The Aquaculture Study Program (Prodi AKU), Faculty of Agriculture, Won a Silver Medal at an International Competition.

Alhamdulillah, the Aquaculture Study Program (Prodi Akuakultur), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Djuanda has proudly achieved an international accolade. The Aquaculture team successfully won a silver medal at the International Research Project Olympiad (IRPrO) 2023, organized virtually by the Indonesian Scientific Society. The competition was joined by 18 countries and 120 teams, all competing to present their research projects in the final round. The event ran from August 1st, 2023 until the winners were announced on August 20th, 2023.

The team was mentored by Dr. Eko Rini Farastuti, M.Si, and led by Aisyah Nur Divianti with members Rina Natasha and Rafly Abdillah—all students from semesters 2 to 6 of the Aquaculture program. Their research theme focused on innovation in aquaculture, specifically the use of natural-based hormones as a substitute for synthetic hormones in the fish reproductive cycle. The team faced intense selection and the challenge of delivering a strong presentation of their research material.

In a separate statement, Dr. Eko Rini Farastuti, as the Head of the Aquaculture Study Program, said this event served as an opportunity for students to innovate and contribute to the global discourse in aquaculture and fisheries. This international achievement marks the first for the Aquaculture Program, serving as a trigger for future participation in similar events with the potential for more success. Bismillah, the Aquaculture Study Program is committed to various efforts aimed at enhancing graduate competitiveness.
