The Aquaculture Study Program (Prodi AKU), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Djuanda, conducted a PKM coaching program as part of its effort to enhance student services. The student services provided by the Aquaculture Study Program cover three main areas in alignment with the services implemented by the faculty and university. These three areas include: (1) reasoning, interests, and talents; (2) welfare (guidance and counseling, scholarship services, and health services); and (3) career guidance and entrepreneurship. On this occasion, Prodi AKU focused on implementing the first area—reasoning, interests, and talents—through continuous PKM coaching, aligned with strategic efforts to support the development of Prodi AKU.
This student service initiative aims to strengthen the preparation of PKM teams for optimal proposal writing. The PKM mentoring at Prodi AKU was conducted comprehensively by Dr. Eko Rini Farastuti, M.Si, through several phases. The first phase was a university-wide socialization event for structural officials, lecturers, and students on Monday, February 5, 2024. This was followed by a faculty-level socialization on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, and a program-level session by Prodi AKU on the same day. The next activity was gathering and accommodating students’ ideas.
The second phase involved implementing proposed ideas and forming PKM teams. The third phase was the coaching and mentoring process focused on PKM content, including writing the introduction, following the proper format, drafting and developing proposals, reviewing, revising, and ensuring the final submission. These activities were conducted in a series of both online and offline sessions on February 20, 23, 24, 26, and 27, 2024. The intensive and close guidance was intended to help students stay focused and optimize their PKM proposal writing.
On a separate occasion, the Head of the Aquaculture Study Program, Dr. Eko Rini Farastuti, M.Si, stated that this initiative was a strategic step by the program to support its development through student services. It is expected that this initiative will serve as a trigger for students to further develop their reasoning, interests, and talents during their academic journey. Moreover, it is also aimed at enhancing student achievements and improving graduate competitiveness.
