Last Updated: 2 years ago

Scientific academic activities are a fundamental output of the educational process. In addition, innovation and creativity in developing businesses aligned with academic expertise must also be a key focus in producing graduates ready to contribute to society. To achieve both, the Aquaculture Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, continuously encourages students to participate in building student-run businesses.

The development and mentoring initiatives conducted by the Aquaculture Study Program are aligned with the cultivation of the 21 Tauhid Character Values, which are the unique value system of Djuanda University. One such initiative is encouraging students to start small businesses based on their interests. This encouragement includes providing opportunities for students to participate in various student entrepreneurship development competitions.

One of these efforts was participation in the Entrepreneurship Award VII, organized by the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region X in collaboration with STIKES Hang Tuah Tanjungpinang and the Student Affairs Communication Forum (Forkomawa) in 2023. The event was open to private universities from across Indonesia.

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, the Aquaculture Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University was selected as one of the finalists and invited to attend the series of events in Tanjungpinang. Two student teams, along with their supervisors—Head of the Aquaculture Study Program, Dr. Ekorini Farastuti, M.Si, and Student Affairs Coordinator, Muhammad Rendi Ramdhani, S.Pd.I, M.Pd—traveled to Tanjungpinang, fully supported by Djuanda University to attend the Entrepreneurship Award VII Gala Night.

At the event, the Aquaculture Study Program proudly earned the “Best Stand” award, recognizing their team as the best in marketing and presentation at the Entrepreneurship Award VII.

The participating student teams were:

  • Team 1 (Business Plan category):
Ikhsan Bayu Alansyah, Gabriela Garaninda Heryana, and Erina Capriati.
Their project featured an organic soap product made from seaweed and fishbone waste extract, aimed at preventing premature aging and reducing scars.

  • Team 2 (Existing Business category):
Mawadah Ilahi Putri, Nur Hidayat, Siti Sofia Nadira, and Alfina Cahyaningrum.
Their business venture, PALELE (Fish Collector and Seller), is a social entrepreneurship project that grows alongside local fishermen in Lampung.

The Entrepreneurship Award VII Gala Night was held on November 23, 2023, at the Trans Convention Centre in Tanjungpinang.

In a separate statement, the Head of the Aquaculture Study Program emphasized that students must always be encouraged and motivated to excel and innovate in entrepreneurship. The Aquaculture Study Program remains fully committed to supporting the development of student entrepreneurial innovation.

Congratulations to the Aquaculture Study Program!
Gratitude is extended to the leadership of Djuanda University, the faculty leaders, and all parties who contributed to the national achievement of our Aquaculture students.
